REP. MOORE HOSTING PROPERTY TAX WORKSHOP

State Rep. Tim Moore will host a free forum on Saturday, Feb. 28 in Clare County where the public can learn how to appeal property tax bills.

"Residents who are receiving their property assessments are questioning why the tax rates are going up when the property values are going down," Moore said. "The workshop can help explain why that is, and offer information on how to appeal for a lower tax bill."

The Feb. 28 workshop begins at 5 p.m. in the Mid-Michigan Community College Auditorium, on the second floor.

The program will feature attorney Mike Bosnic, who handles property tax appeals in his practice. Bosnic will discuss appeal methods and common mistakes to avoid, and answer questions from area taxpayers.

Property owners who cannot attend the forum can receive written information through Moore's office by calling toll free 1-866-MOORE-97 or e-mailing to timmoore@house.mi.gov.

"I encourage the public to attend and learn about their rights as a property owner," Moore said.
