MELTZER TO HOST JOB-HUNTING SEMINAR

With a 12.6-percent unemployment rate and automakers threatening bankruptcy, state Rep. Kim Meltzer will host a job-hunting seminar to help families best prepare for the job search.

"Michigan will come out of this economic recession when its residents are retrained to compete in a working economy," said Meltzer, R-Clinton Township. "This job hunting workshop will guide residents to the information necessary to secure a job in the new economy."

As more employers are requiring applicants to apply for jobs online, Meltzer said it is critical that Michigan residents know how to use the Internet and the best language to get their application and resume noticed. A presenter from TACOM will also be on hand to discuss military job opportunities reportedly coming to Michigan.

The job-hunting seminar takes place on Thursday, May 28 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Macomb Community College Professional Development Center, Hall B. The development center is located at 44575 Garfield Road in Clinton Township.
